About Denny’s Restaurant: Harold Butler and Richard Jezak opened Danny’s Donuts in Lakewood, California, in the year 1953.
Soon after, it went from being a donut shop to a coffee shop with a store and changed its name to Danny’s Coffee Shops.
In 1956, it changed its name to Denny’s Coffee Shops and in 1959, it changed its name to what it is now, Denny’s (1961).
